A minor point for you. The hood scoop was common, but was not official to the FIA. When Opert co drove at Sebring in 1965 the car had a scoop. They wouldn’t allow him to race with it, so we swapped and he raced with the flat hood from mine. During the race he shunted, and my original was damaged. They taped it and raced on. But, after it was over I got to keep the scooped hood and it’s been on mine ever since.
Dave, do you have photos of your car that you can send me? Can I put the photos on my blog? The hood scoop was only stock on the Mk III but they went back to having no scoop on the Mk IV. I have an extra hood from an early car that I plan to use as a spare.
